In Loving Memory:

Colleen Diane Meyer (nee Sinclair), age 88, a resident of Valparaiso, In., went to be with her Lord on Friday evening the 7th of May, 2021. She was born September 14, 1932 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Gertrude and Arthur Sinclair.

Colleen's faith was central to her life and she often encouraged other's with God's love and truth. She especially enjoyed sending special cards of love and encouragement and ones of humorous wit to family and friends. She had been an active member of Faith Baptist in Parker, Co. and later a member of Valley Baptist in Valparaiso, In.

She loved the outdoors, camping and hiking, and was part farm girl at heart, gardening, canning, and planting flowers. Colleen had a great passion for books of all types and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed cooking, studying recipes, watching cooking shows, and trying her hand at dishes prepared by Jacques Pepin and Julia Child. Other memories of her include Carol Burnett, Red Skelton, Huckleberry Finn, "roof removing" sneezes, bean soup, White Castles, Hershey's Cocoa Fudge, coffee at Village Inn, milking goats, Rhubard Pie, Pedal Pushers, and barefeet.

Colleen will be laid to rest next to her lifelong husband, Donald Meyer, at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Castle Rock, Colorado. They were married 42 years at the time he was called home in February 1994. She is survived by her three children, Steven Meyer (69), Cheryl (Dan) Burosh (66), and Valerie Delgado (63), seven grandchildren (Jessica, Jamison (Aubrey), Ross, Brad, Amanda, Mark, and Sarah (Jeremy), and four great-grandchildren (Aliyana, Ariella, Jaidon, and Mia).

A celebration of Colleen's life will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel, with funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at Shine Church, both in Castle Rock, Colorado.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paradigm One (Paradigm One Launch Fund givetaxfree.org), FUSE Therapy (fusetherapy.org/sponsor-a-child/), or Experienced Autism Alliance (ee-all.org).

These organizations are founded and operated by Colleen's granddaughters, Jessica Kidd and Amanda Grozdanic, respectively.

¿TIENE UN RECUERDO O UNA CONDOLENCIA QUE AÑADIR?

AÑADIR UN RECUERDO
Rev. Brian Sinclair

21 mayo , 2021

Steve, Cheryl & Dan and Valerie and all families, from the entire Sinclairs, we are grieved over your loss of your mom/ grandma. Yet in Jesus Christ we have an enduring hope for those who believe. So, this is but for a while and eventually there will be a grand family reunion. Someone, once told me that when a loved one dies and transitions into glory, for those who profess faith in the Lord Jesus as Savior, this is a reminder that you have another treasure in heaven. The Bible reminds us: “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.” (Psalm 116:15 NIV)
As my dad’s (Ron Sinclair) only sibling that I knew growing up, there are many memories that flood into my recollection with grateful prayer. From days in Munster, Indiana to relocating to Parker, Colorado then to be near her brother in Valparaiso. In the last few years there were many discussions with me of faith, beliefs and Scripture in those moments often when I was in Valpo to see Dad.
Not merely as her nephew and your cousin, but a minister of the Gospel of Jesus, it was noticeable and remarkable of Colleen’s unwavering faith in Jesus. I know that she would want every one of her family to know this. She no longer experiences any pain or trouble. May the Lord bring renewed joy, hope and comfort in these moments to all.
If you need to contact me, feel free to do so.
Your cousin, for the Sinclairs,
Rev. Brian J. Sinclair

"3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. "
