Cory Jason Pettee passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025. He was born on March 13, 1988 in Colorado, the son of Mark and Michelle (Bullard) Pettee. Cory met Katie Clark in December of 2015 while working at Ponderosa High School. They recently shared 1 ½ years of marriage together with a total of 9 ½ years together.
Cory worked at Ponderosa High School, Loveland High School, and most recently at DCSD Bridge Program all as a paraprofessional. He adored all of the children and young adults with special needs he worked with, thinking of them as his own. He held many jobs in his life, but was drawn to jobs where he could care for and help others.
In his youth, Cory was known as a little brother not just to his older brothers, but to his brother’s friends. In his adult years, he was the older brother all to his friends. Cory had a heart of gold and could be counted on to show up if anyone asked him to. The number of friends he has is endless. If he hadn’t seen a friend in years, whenever they’d see each other again, it’s as if time never passed.
He was an avid hockey fan, especially the Avalanche. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and loving on his fur babies, dog, Reilly Mac and cat, Hatty Val. Cory will be remembered for his great sense of humor (including his dad jokes), conversations consisting of movie quotes, his infectious laugh, warm hugs, and huge smile.
Cory leaves behind his wife, Katie; father Mark Pettee (Laura); mother Michelle Pettee (Manny Duraes); brothers Chris Pettee (Mindy Harris) and Kyle Pettee (Stacey); step-sisters Meghan Baarts (Chris), Kendall Carroll (Julian Schmidt) and Alexa Bradford (Taylor); grandfather Duane Bullard (Toni Warbington); in-laws Ron, Kathey, and Ryan Clark (Shannel); an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews (Landon, Bodhi, Jackson, Owen, Lane, Jack, Holden, and Neo), and nieces (Brianna, Brooklyn, Harper, Emmerson, Naomah, NJ, and Zee).
A celebration of Cory’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 5pm at Front Range Christian Church. Front Range livestreams Sunday services, so please check back Tuesday at 5pm MST for Cory's service. Here is the link to the Livestream: https://live.frontrange.org/
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colorado Special Olympics or DCSD Bridge Program (this is the school Cory worked at).
