Emma Ross Dicken, "Emmy Lou" resident of Annapolis, Maryland for 50 years and previously of Honolulu, Hawaii, died August 13th in Castle Rock. Born in Wichita, Kansas, she received a BA degree from the University of Colorado and a MA from George Washington University. Emmy Lou enjoyed teaching, specializing as a Latin teacher, and loved the Cubs. A member of the United Church of Christ of Annapolis, she was a Deacon, on the Consistory and a Sunday School teacher.
She was preceded in death in April 1969 by her first husband, Frank E. Day, Jr., who she married in 1942; and in November 1998 by her second husband, Him Dicken, whom she married in December 1975. Emmy Lou is survived by her sons, Jim Day and Brian Day; daughter, Susan Day Williams; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the United Church of Christ of Annapolis, 8 Carvel Circle, Edgewater, MD 21037. Burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
