Geraldine Augustine Brill

Geraldine Augustine Brill passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025 at the age of 92. She was born on November 7, 1932 in South Dakota, the daughter of Herman and Augustine (Juhnke) Harnisch. Geraldine married Paul Gerhardt Henry Brill and they celebrated 55 years of marriage before his passing in 2008.

Geraldine was born and raised in South Dakota, but also made her home across Colorado, Utah, Minnesota, and Kansas. She and her husband called Colorado home for the past 30 years. She received her associate degree from Augustana College and received her Bachelor of Arts in 1972. She was proud to teach and taught in a one room schoolhouse in South Dakota and later started a preschool program and mother's day out program at a local church for 14 years.

Geraldine and her husband were always active in their Lutheran church in their communities. She served as ministry to homebound parishioners, led ladies bible study, and volunteered for countless activities. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and baking, and spending time with her family. She had a special heart for animals, including her dogs and cats.

Geraldine is survived by her children Paulette Schroeder and Tonya Fischer and husband Tim; grandchildren Terrah McCracken and husband Dean, Josh Schroeder, Ashley Brill, Spencer Brill, Matt Fischer and wife Kelsey, Zach Fischer and wife Chelsey, Mackenzie Jacob and husband Justin; great grandchildren Kade McCracken, Hunter Fischer, Hudson Fischer, Colton Fischer, Henley Fischer, Evelyn Fischer, and Rhett Fischer.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, sons Steve Brill and Tobyn Brill, brother Marvin Harnisch and wife Valedda, and twin brother Eugene Harnisch and wife Jean.
