Hazel Mae Kremer, 85, went home to be with the Lord on December 23, 2025, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by her loving family during the five months following her diagnosis, she received an outpouring of care and support that reflected the deep love she had given to others throughout her life.
Hazel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joel Kremer; her parents, Timothy and Ruby Nelson; her siblings, Richard Nelson, Mary Ann James, Garnet Sturgill, Paul Nelson, and Bonnie Rummel; and her granddaughters, Aubrey Bruch and Daisy Gaetke.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Kremer and Jody Kremer Bruch (Kevin); her grandchildren, Joshua Kremer (Monica), Meagan Gaetke (Stephen), Seth Kremer (Emma), Rachel Corwin (Joseph), Nicholas Bruch, and Victoria Bruch (Jozua Bristol); and her great-grandchildren, Beckett, Vivian, and Ellen Gaetke, and Gregory, Charlie, Joseph-Ezariah, and Samuel Corwin and sister Betty Higgins and sisters-in-law, Alma Jean Nelson and Jo Nelson.
Born in West Virginia on September 23, 1940, Hazel fondly cherished memories of her childhood, growing up surrounded by the love of her parents and siblings, the rewards of hard work, and a profound faith in God. She carried these values throughout her life.
On December 2, 1965, Hazel married the love of her life, Joel Kremer, in Colorado. Together, they raised their children, Jeffrey and Jody, instilling in them the same faith-centered principles that had shaped her own upbringing.
Even in the challenging final chapter of her journey, Hazel clung steadfastly to her faith and optimism. She worked tirelessly to encourage those around her to love God deeply and to persevere through trials with grace. Her gentle spirit, generosity to those in need, unwavering strength, and joyful heart touched countless lives.
Hazel will be terribly missed by all who knew her, but her family rejoices knowing she is now in Heaven with Jesus, free from pain and awaiting a glorious family reunion one day.
