Janet Louise Phillips Whitson

Janet L. Whitson, 75 of Elizabeth, Colorado passed away on Friday July 2, 2010 at her home after a 4 year battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease. Born Janet L. Phillips on October 26, 1934 in Las Vegas, Nevada she was the daughter of Orville and Muriel (Young) Phillips.

On October 30, 1954 she married James A. Whitson in her mother’s home in Billings, Montana. A homemaker, Janet was a very special wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, who touched many lives.

Mrs. Whitson is survived by her husband James and special companion “Nicki”, children: Terri (Dan) Wofford of Elizabeth, CO, Robert (Nancy) Whitson of Durango, CO, Sharon (Jon) Boothe of Las Vegas, NV, and Pam Sheffield of Kinston, NC. Suzanne (Bobby) Harrell, also of Kinston, NC. , and Jonathan (Shelly) Whitson of Highlands Ranch, CO. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Vanessa, Danielle, Amberlyn, Casey, Sean, Raelyn, Little Robb, Brianna, Jonathan and Christopher, one great grandchild: Damion, sister, Joyce Watkins of Port Angeles, WA and Brother Roy Wayne (Linda) Phillips of Worland, Wyoming

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Muriel and Orville Phillips and one brother, Ted Phillips.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, July 9, 2010 at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Funeral Home, Castle Rock, CO.
