

Kenneth Alfred Schenck, went to his heavenly home on Friday, September 17th, 2021, at the age of 90. Ken was a faithful husband, grandfather and great grandfather who loved the Lord, his family and his church.
Ken was born in San Diego, CA. on November 5th, 1930, to father Glenn William Schenck and mother Theo Madge Schenck. Ken was married to Catherine on March 28, 1949, in Denver by the Justice of the peace. A few months later they celebrated with a church wedding on June 19, 1949, with family and friends. Ken met Catherine on a blind date when he was in the Air Force stationed at Lowry Air Force Base. His buddy loaned him a dollar for the movies and a bag of popcorn. He had 10 cents left to get back to the base. After they were married, they moved to the state of Washington in 1954, and returned to Colorado in 1955. They moved to Parker, Colorado around 1960 and later to Kiowa, Colorado in 1973 to farm and ranch. Ken lived his remaining years on the ranch they managed together. Ken spent his career working as a carpenter, building homes and senior living apartments. He enjoyed running his cattle ranching business on the side in his spare time and in his later years.
Ken and Catherine belonged to the Pikes Peak Grange for over 20 years. They enjoyed dancing, and spending time with their friends. They also belonged to an Antique Car Club. This allowed them to show off the Model T’s which won many 1st place ribbons. Ken and Catherine shared a beautiful love story for 52 years. The loss of Catherine was always the main topic of conversation when Ken would meet people for the first time. His love for her was so apparent to everyone he met.
He was a loving father to his two sons Brian and Tony, and his two daughters-in-law Gerrie and Sondra. One of Ken’s greatest joys was being a grandfather to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He always said he felt very blessed to be a part of their lives for so many years.
Ken is survived by his two sons and their spouses; Brian and Gerrie Schenck and Tony and Sondra Schenck, his grandchildren and their spouses Kenny (Theresa) Schenck, Katie (Troy) Betancourt, Robby (Katie) Schenck, Nicole (Lee) Moore, Tiffany (Myron) Moore, Deanna Schenck, his step-grandchildren Kristie (Jesse) Poteet, Brittany (Cody) Gutteron and Sean (Holly) Mundt and his 16 great grandchildren. Ken is also survived by his brother William (Ann) Schenck.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Mary Catherine Schenck.
