

Lon grew up in Clay Center, KS where he graduated high school. He received his undergraduate and Master's Degree from Pittsburg State University where he participated in swimming. He went on to receive his PhD for Industrial Education - EED Doctorate of Education from MIssouri State University.
Lon taught at Cornell University. After a few years he relocated his family to Colorado where he found his dream job of speaking to others. He was Mr. Fix-It on KOA Radio and an expert witness on construction defect cases.
He served in the US Army and was discharged in 1964 as a 1st Lieutenant. He was a special member for Paratrooper Ranger Training in Fort Benning, Georgia. He received his Parachute Badge, Ranger Tab and Expert Infantryman.
Lon had a beautiful gift of blending families and bringing people together. He was loved by his wife Marianne, 8 children, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A celebration of life for Lelland will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel, 407 Jerry Street, Castle Rock, Colorado 80104, followed by a reception from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
