Linda Lee Shoop. Linda passed peacefully after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s on March 16th, 2020. Linda is survived by her loving spouse James Shoop; her sister Betty (husband Tom Meagher, Rio Rancho NM); her son and daughter-in-law Cole and Laura Stanley (Littleton, CO); her step-daughter and son-in-law Brenda Lang and Jim Roth (Houston) ; grandchildren Noah, Spencer& Neve Stanley (Littleton, CO) Amanda (Corpus Christi, TX), Chase Lang (Houston) and great grandsons Stoney and Tytin Siler (Corpus Christi, TX); and numerous extended family and friends.

Linda is preceded in death by her mother Jo Ann D. Brundrett, father Lt. Col. Warner M. Brundrett and brother Warner D. Brundrett.

Linda was born in Bryan, TX on Dec 14th, 1946 to a military family and had lived all over the world by the time she finished high school. Her favorite fact about her youth was that she attended 4 different high schools, in 4 years, and still turned out normal. After High School she attended The University of Texas where she graduated and went on to have a 35+ year career as a dental hygienist. Linda was an avid skier as well, getting her last turns in at the age of 71. Her passion for scrapbooking was also well known amongst her family and friends. This is evident in the dozens of volumes that she meticulously kept up to date, year by year. Linda was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to all. Her infectious laugh and wonderful smile was known to light up any room, gathering or party and will be missed.

Linda wished to be cremated and that wish will be honored. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak in our country currently, a celebration is being planned for a future date in Colorado. Notification will be sent out accordingly.

Please share your memories here below, they are much appreciated.

Linda and I met in 7th grade when we were 12 and spent nearly every day together. As teenagers, we studied together, double dated, played lots of badminton, rode bikes, and climbed trees.

As we grew older, we talked endlessly to develop our philosophies of life. God, family, and treating others with respect and love were topmost and followed us throughout life.

Linda was an amazing, vivacious force, always caring about others, and full of love. She was athletic and fearless. Her smile was contagious and she easily made friends. She was known for hosting parties that were fun for all.

When we visited over time, it was obvious that Linda’s beautiful smile, twinkling eyes, and amazing personality that she had growing up had become even stronger. I loved Linda dearly as did anyone who knew her.

My deepest sympathy to her loving husband Jim, her children Cole and Brenda, her dear sister Betty and all their families.

As the angels in heaven celebrate her arrival, we here on earth mourn her leaving but are blessed to have had her in our lives, if even for much too a short time.

Linda’s sparkling personality, strength, warmth, and loving spirit will remain in our hearts forever.

I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path god has laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things, I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief,
Lift up your heart and peace to thee
God wanted me now; He set me free.

My sincerest condolences to you and all the family!
Love,
Joanne

My sorrow cannot be measured. We have lost a very loving soul. God knows when it's our time but sometimes we are selfish as His children. Know my arms are reaching far with my love dear brother. My deepest sympathy to you and all her family at this time.
Love,
Judy

Linda walking her two adorable dachshunds wearing one of her cute little hats is the way I will alway remember her. She seemed to have a whole collection of them. That’s how we met, walking our dogs. We had both just moved into the neighborhood and I remember thinking what a sweet person she was and that we could probably be good friends. I really needed a friend right then as my husband had just been diagnosed with Frontal Temporal Degeneration and the days and years ahead looked pretty bleak. Then I heard the devastating news she had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, but in spite of the effects of this terrible disease we did become close friends. We would meet walking the dogs, chat on the front porch or over the back fence or lunch with friends. Linda could be very funny and she always brought with her a laugh and a smile. Thank you my dear friend for putting a bit of sunshine in my days with your wonderful personality and beautiful smile. I will miss you, may you be at peace in the arms of God.

Linda was a wonderful and sweet neighbor. She would talk to our dogs over the fence and we had some special conversations then also. We enjoyed meeting up at the mailbox or on the way with our dogs in tow. She and Jim have been great neighbors and were before we moved into our house. She was a very special lady and will be truly missed.

Linda was the kindest, most loving individual one could ever meet UNTIL you did something she didn't think was right. Then she would GET EVEN, not mad. Loved her for this. She was a second mother to our son, Brian and was always a great friend of ours. We will miss her dearly and await the time that we can join her in eternal life.

Linda was warm, bubbly and friendly. We doubt she ever met a stranger. She also had a great sense of humor. One Sunday during church coffee hour, Linda admired Herb's fly-fishing mug and told him, "Don't set that down while Jim's around. He'll steal it!"

Linda was enormously proud of the beautiful scrapbooks she crafted, filling each with photos and memories of her family and friends. She enjoyed sharing these scrapbooks and telling memories of her wonderful life. We are grateful we heard some of those stories from sweet Linda, who loved her family and friends dearly.

I met Linda (&Jim) in 2014 when my family and I moved to their neighborhood. She struck me as a kind, gentle, spirit and over the 6 years that I got to know her better that never changed. To me and my family Linda's demeanor was one characterized by smiles and sweetness. I loved this picture from last year where she was inviting the hummingbirds, who were visiting her yard, to land on her finger. That was a cute moment for us. Rest in peace dear lady.
