On December 14th, Melody Ann Gardner passed away at her home in Castle Rock, Colorado. She is now with Jesus, her youngest son Mick, and her sister Bunnie in Heaven. She was 62 years old. Melody is survived by her oldest son, Dan Hoyt; her sister, Connie Lanford; her brothers, Keith Ford and Dan Shuler; her mother, Murna DeLuzio; and her stepfather, Dan DeLuzio.
Melody grew up in Colorado alongside her two brothers and two sisters. She had two sons, Dan Hoyt and Mick Gardner, and spent most of her life working as a baker. She was known for her strong personality, unshakable work ethic, incredible courage, and for being one of the most authentic people anyone could meet.
Melody overcame immense obstacles in her life, yet still achieved milestones such as becoming a homeowner and a proud mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the ocean, movies, bowling, and picking out thoughtful gifts for her family. Melody showed her love through her gifts, which were always beautifully and perfectly wrapped. It was clear she took immense pride in every present she gave.
We all love Melody deeply and she will forever live in our hearts. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of life for Melody will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel, 407 Jerry Street, Castle Rock, Colorado 80104.
