Michelle Anne Woods

Mikki was born to J. Michael and Annette (Kitt) Forney on February 2, 1982 in Aurora, CO. Mikki was educated in the Douglas County Schools and went on to receive her BA in Communications from Colorado State University and her Masters from University of Phoenix in Elementary Education. Her love of working with children began at an early age as she enjoyed babysitting and working in the church nursery.

She enjoyed several years of working with children at a local daycare before joining American Academy in their KindiePrep program when the school opened. Quickly realizing that this was her dream job, she spent the next seven years devoted to her students.

Mikki was an educator at heart. She was kind, nurturing and always had a comforting hug and warm smile for each and every child. Always looking for a fun way to brighten another’s day, she will be remembered for her adventurous, fun-loving spirit and contagious belly laughs. She will be dearly missed by her students, friends and family.

Mikki is survived by her parents, Mike and Annette Forney, of Castle Rock, CO her sister Kyle Hertzler and brother in law Matt and her two nephews, Nathan and Levi, also of Castle Rock, CO.

Mikki will have a private family service at a later date.
