Nadine graduated from Michigan State University in 1948, and found work as an administrative assistant in the office of Michigan State University’s President, John Hannah.
Nadine was married on April 13,1947 to Dick Murphy, and had 5 children.Their first child, Gary, was born in 1949, followed by Colleen in 1951, Bob in 1960, Jim in 1963, and Chris in 1969. The young family moved frequently as Dick played minor league baseball, living in Virginia, Florida, Ohio and Minnesota. When his career ended, they settled in East Lansing, Michigan, and remained there until moving to Pennsylvania in 1961. Nadine was a "stay at home mom" as the family grew and moved to Barrington, IL in 1973, then on to Castle Rock, Colorado in 1974 as Dick changed jobs.
Once the children were out of the house, Nadine started a new career as a travel agent. She worked for a couple different local agencies before owning her own agency, Let's Travel, from 1986 to 2006. During that time, Dick passed away in 2002. Nadine spent the last 14 years of her life being mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
