

Neal was born on October 16, 1966, in Fremont, Nebraska, to Francis and Patricia Minarick. He graduated from North Bend Central High School in 1985 before attending the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he earned his bachelor’s degree and was a proud member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. While attending UNL, Neal met the love of his life, Jody. The two married in 1991 and built a beautiful life together, raising their two children, Cassen and Alicen.
Neal was known for his strong work ethic, quick wit, generous heart, and ability to make everyone feel welcome. He adored his family and treasured every moment spent with them, especially becoming “Grampy” to his granddaughter, Khloe. Neal also took immense pride in his local business, Duke’s Steakhouse, where he served as owner and operator for 30 years. Through the restaurant, he built lifelong friendships and became a familiar and cherished face in the community.
Neal is survived by his wife, Jody Minarick; his son, Cassen Minarick (Alysa Weaver); his daughter, Alicen (Austin) Langmacher; and his granddaughter, Khloe Langmacher. He is also survived by his siblings Sue, Mike (Sally), Peg, Patrice (Mark), and John (Deb); his brother-in-law, Craig (Brenda); his father- and mother-in-law, Roger and Mary Breeding; his grandmother Henrietta Oltmans; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved spending time with.
Neal was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Patricia Minarick, and his brothers-in-law, Bill and Geof.
Neal will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
