

She was born in Lockney, Texas on August 11, 1933, and grew up in Plainview, Texas. She fell in love with Colorado while attending the University of Colorado in Boulder.
She was a military wife for many years, moving all around the world sparking an appreciation of travel. She had two children, Kurt Metzger (Belinda) and Karen Parry (Michael), two grandchildren, Heather Metzger (Matt Zimmerman) and Allison Metzger (Robert Baker), four great-grandchildren, Mckenzie, Ashley, Logan, and Liam, and one great-great-granddaughter, Annelise.
After settling in Colorado Springs in the early 1970s, she taught elementary school in District 11. After her retirement, she joined the Assistance League of Colorado Springs (ALCS) where she was a member for over 20 years. She especially enjoyed playing bridge and volunteering her time working at the Bargain Box. She also was a member of American Association of University Women (AAUW), participating in bridge, travel and computer groups. Her travel adventures included the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Australia, New Zealand, Alaska and more.
She loved playing bridge, played in multiple groups and anywhere she could join a game. She enjoyed reading, most often mysteries and watching old mystery shows. Peggy had a sharp wit, entertaining her friends, family and caregivers up until the end.
Services will be at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Castle Rock, on May 19 at 11:00 am. Donations can be made to Assistance League of Colorado Springs.
