Richard Lynn "Rich" Miele, 74, left this life as he lived…...with joy, curiosity, grace, dignity , integrity and enormous kindness….. on July 12, 2021 after a long fight with Alzheimers (punctuated by COVID). He rode every wave of the disease bravely with bold resilience until the last challenging wave.
Rich's travel experiences from a young age into adult life helped form broad perspectives and made him the influential educator/mentor he was. . His love of life, travel, and family (deeply influenced by his parents, Al and Gloria, and childhood years in France with them and his sister, Barb, and his shared adventures/laughter with his brother, Steve) led him to encounters with a diverse group of students, colleagues, and friends who continued to shape his life.
His passions were many including photography, music, reading, “heady” movies, good wine, wonderful food and great conversation!! His intellect, sincerity and artistic views and sense of humor gave him the ability to connect and touch the world, leaving it a better place.
Rich is survived by family and friends who he loved deeply.
His family will be gathering for a small private celebration of his life.
Rich is Survived by:
Barbara Tacker, sister, and family ( Jim Tacker, Lindsey Boykin ,Erik, Cash and Dyson Boykin )
Steve Miele, brother, and family (Lynne Miele, Ben Miele and fiancee, Nikki, Sami and Bryce Burdette)
A heartfelt thank you to the loving caregivers at Legacy Village in Castle Pines, and Bristol Hospice for the care and love they gave Rich on the last passage of his life’s journey.
Donations to the ALZ Association would be greatly appreciated.
