

He was a Legend, Hero, Mentor, Friend, an Honest and Successful Businessman, Amazing Role-Model, at times – a Comedian, Rancher, Farmer, Husband, Father, “Grampa” and Great Grampa and a wealth of knowledge and wisdom. He was a proud man – a result of taking great pride in everything he did.
He was born July 30th 1922, the only child to John Russel and Callie Ruth Cummings. He was raised in southwestern Kansas during the depression and the 1920’s and 1930’s dust bowl days. He dreamed of living near the Colorado Rockies. He made that dream come true when he was 21 years of age. He settled in Elizabeth, Colorado where he met his future bride. On March 1st, 1946 he and Idella Alice Wight married. Together they raised three children: Steven, Rita and Curtis. They remained married for 66 blissful years. He was a successful rancher, John Deere Implement dealer and Realtor. He had many accomplishments throughout the years. He cherished his Masonic and Eastern Star life where he made many lifelong friends.
He was so very proud of his family and loved each and every one of them.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Cummings.
He is survived by his loving family including his beloved wife, Idella: son, Steve/Linda; daughter, Rita/Randy; son, Curt/Lori; grandchildren, Suzie/Scott; Stephanie/Wes; Ryan/Hope; Callie/Eric; Craig; Cory/Sarah; great grandchildren, Morgan, Tyler, Jaci, Rylie and Delani; step great grandchildren, Allie and Lainie, each of which Grampa was so proud of. He is also survived by other family members and many friends.
