Ruth Ann Flick

Born in Palo Alto, California on December 16th, 1949, Ruth Ann (Smith) was raised in Northern California. She married Mark Christopher Flick on August 2nd, 1969. They lived in various parts of California throughout their married life as they pastored many churches, before moving to the Oregon coast and then eventually retiring in Colorado. Ruth Ann attended Bethany College before getting married and starting her family. As a pastor’s wife, she worked alongside her husband Mark in various ministerial capacities for over 40 years. Ruth Ann also spent many years as a Special Education teacher for various schools. Her unwavering faith in God was demonstrated in her patience and selfless love for her family, friends and students.

She was a born again believer in Christ and a member of Jubilee Fellowship Church and Shine Church. A true Proverbs 31 woman. Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Earl David Smith and Bertha Charlene (Meek) Smith. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Mark Flick, and their daughter, Aaron Kaye Hernandez and son-in-law, Hector Hernandez of Castle Rock, CO, and their son, Joshua Mark Flick and daughter-in-law, Serena Flick of Fresno, CA. She is also survived by her brothers, Dr. Gary Earl Smith of Tyler, TX, and Fr. Peter Smith of Sioux Falls, SD as well as her sisters, Rebecca Jean Smith of Seattle, WA and Esther Joy Cone of Paso Robles, CA. Ruth Ann is survived by her 2 grandchildren, Daniel and Annabelle Hernandez.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021, at 12 pm at Shine Church, 809 Park Street, Castle Rock, Colorado. You are invited to join us and others in celebrating Ruth Ann’s life at this time. There will be a private family internment at Seven Stones Memorial Gardens in Littleton, CO. Thank you all for the outpouring of love and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Agape Hope Children’s Home in Nairobi, Kenya are requested in consideration of Ruth Ann’s lifelong love and devotion to African orphans in need.
