Sharon Sue Webb Cleveland passed away peacefully on a Wednesday morning.
In death, she joins Roger Cleveland, her husband of nearly 65 years, and Megan
(Cleveland) Chadez, her daughter. She is survived by Amy Cleveland, her daughter,
William, Isabelle, Sophia, her grandchildren, Aunt Josephine, and many beloved
cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Sharon Sue was a miracle. She was born in Minitaire, Nebraska, and came into
the world weighing just 2 pounds. An aunt nursed her through the first few days and
she not only survived but thrived. She never slowed down, living her whole life with
the energy it took to survive her first few days.
Her family moved to Mitchell, Nebraska in 1941 and Sharon lived there until she
left for the University of Nebraska. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and
spent a great deal of her adult life as an educator. She was also a member of the Kappa
Delta sorority.
Sharon and Roger were married on August 24, 1956, and had a lifetime of
adventure together and enjoyed traveling and exploring. They lived in Denver,
Colorado where their daughters Amy and Megan were born. Sharon taught for Denver
Public Schools for many years.
The family moved to Castle Rock, Colorado in 1971 and fell in love with the
small-town community. Sharon taught for over 20 years with Douglas County
Schools. She began her career at Pine Lane Elementary and then became the first
Teacher On Special Assignment (TOSA) for the district. This assignment allowed her
to support teachers throughout the district and she was very proud of that distinction
and her work in that position.
Sharon spent the last part of her teaching career at Larkspur Elementary where
she really found a home and made lifelong friends. She retired from Larkspur and
continued doing the things she loved with the contagious energy she gave to everything
she did.
Sharon Sue loved her family and was a fervent caregiver to them, she cherished
her friendships, some of which spanned her lifetime, and she took meticulous care of
her home. She was a small but mighty bundle of energy and she had a wonderful life.
