May 16, 1940-December 6,2021
In loving memory of Sharon (Sheri) Kay Wagner (Lewis), 81, of Franktown, Colorado. Surrounded by her husband and daughter, passed away at her home peacefully on December 6, 2021. She fought a long, difficult battle with Parkinsons for many years.
Sharon was born in Des Moines, IA, on May 16, 1940, to the late Carroll William Lewis and Charlotte Celia Thompson. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1958. After graduation, she married Jerry Homer Wagner of Ottumwa, IA with whom she had two children. She completed her college and nursing degree at University of Iowa in 1962. After moving with her husband to Denver, CO, in 1963, she continued working a long career in hospital nursing as an accomplished RN to span across four decades in all areas.
Sharon had many additional interests/hobbies as well. She loved all animals, particularly her collies and golden retrievers and her three horses, Errogance, Mara and Misty. She worked with handicapped children, troubled youth and disabled veterans in a therapeutic ranch environment for many years. She also rode dressage in exhibition for fun. Sharon also enjoyed reading hundreds of books from all genres. Her favorite were the Amash family stories and political history books where she stayed heavily involved and engaged on her knowledge around anything and everything to do with “current news”. Sharon loved to cook, bake, shop and make all around her smile with her witty remarks.
Married to Jerry for 61 years, they enjoyed travels to Europe, Mexico and different parts of the U.S. Their love was unparalleled and was so special to any that knew them. The two always so strong in their Lutheran Faith, helped many folks that needed it throughout the years. Always going above and beyond to provide support to any who might need it.
Sharon will be greatly missed by her husband Jerry, her two kids, Wendi and Chad, her daughter-in-law Sheila McGonigle, her son-in-law John Bodman, and her six grandchildren, Bryce, Jessica, Colin, Alyssa, Luke and Paige.
A memorial service will be held at some later date to be determined.
