On the evening of December 21, 2014, Sue passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family and friends, in Larkspur, CO. Sue was 60 years old at the time of her passing.
Sue was born in Buffalo, NY on June 24, 1954 as the middle child of Melda and William Philo.
She was a wonderful part of everyone’s life she touched, whether you called her wife, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, aunt, friend or colleague. Sue loved to travel and explore new places by Jeeping, flying and camping, spending time visiting and laughing with friends and family, decorating and celebrating Christmas, doing a little shoe shopping and mixing a great margarita. Sue loved to bring fun and laughter to those around her and found pure enjoyment out of life and always lived life to the fullest. She continued to show her wonderful sense of humor with her beautifully infectious laugh even during her brave last weeks at home. Our “Rodeo Rose” and her beautiful smile will always be in our hearts!
Sue graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1972. She began a long career at Hughes Aircraft of CA. in 1979 and was Head of Material Control when she left at the end of 1993. During her time at Hughes, she graduated from Chaffey College with two Associate Degrees, one in Management and one in Transportation Warehousing in June 1991.
Sue went onto become a Customer Service Supervisor at Reno Air from 1994 to 1999. While at Reno Air, she graduated as valedictorian of her class from the International Air Academy in Ontario, CA in 1994. When Guys’ career took them from CA to RI in March of 1999, Sue continued her work in customer service as the Customer Service Manager at the Providence Place Mall, Providence, RI. In early 2002, they picked up again and headed from the East Coast to Tucson, AZ. While in AZ, Sue worked for AAA Arizona as a Travel Specialist.
Guy’s retirement brought them back home to CO in 2006. Sue loved being closer to her friends and family and making new friends and connections through her job at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. She enjoyed hosting and entertaining friends and family in their home nearby and visiting all regions of the country.
Sue was preceded in death by her father, William Philo and her father-in-law, Vincent Trudeau.
