

Tim grew up in Sterling, Colorado. On this farm, Tim and his brother Kevin got to be boys of the Wild, Wild West. The family moved to Lakewood where Tim Graduated from Green Mountain High School. Tim met his true love and cowgirl for life, Karen, at a Merle Haggard show at The Grizzly Rose . They were married 2 years later. Shortly after they welcomed a daughter, Payton. Over the next few years Rope, Jensen, and Raef completed the family. Tim was a leader, a husband, a father, and a friend. He coached the kids is various youth sports. Coaching football for the boys teams was a special treat. He loved all of the kids and families on his teams. Tim spent time as president of the youth football board and on the high school booster club. Aside from his fatherly duties, Tim worked in the construction industry. He was a Master Plumber and the Vice President of Southern Colorado for MTech Mechanical. Tim was all in with everything he did. He enjoyed fun runs, triathlons and was a Boulder Ironman Finisher. Additionally, he was active in a Men's Golf League, The Pikes Peak Running Club, hiking Pikes Peak and the Manitou Incline.
Tim has a long list of success stories and supporters, his homegrown country loving Irish spirit is going to be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his father (Phil Ruel), stepfather (John Johnson), and beloved dog Sooner. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Ruel; his four children Payton Ruel of Monument, Colorado, Rope Ruel of Mesa, Arizona, Jensen Ruel of Tecumseh, Michigan, and Raef Ruel of 29 Palms, California; his mother Karen Ruel-Johnson of The Villages, Florida; brother Kevin Ruel and sister in law Lisa Ruel of Chicago, Illinois; step siblings the Stacey Finney family and the Wes Johnson family both of Colorado; dog Ace; and many friends. In lieu of flowers for the Memorial Service, his family asks you to consider donating to our team T Time for the PurpleStride 2022.
