It's close to Christmas 2012 and I just found out about Teeter's passing.  I hardly knew her but I do know she was a wonderful lady.  I do the Audubon Christmas Count in her neighborhood and every year she would invite us in to warm up and chat, and she always had her feeders and birdbaths full and ready for her avian friends.  I will miss her next week when I'm doing the count and every year thereafter.  My sincere condolences to all her family.

I'm so sorry to just today learn of Teeter's passing.  I'm one of several cadets her and Grampy took in.  No words could ever express how much they both mean to me, and how much we all appreciate their home away from home they gave us all.  To the Waesche family, thank you for allowing me and all of the others into your family.  You are truly a special group of people and I'm honored to have been a small part of it.

It was a pleasure and honor to be a friend of Teeter, from the beginning until the last time we had together.  I will miss our laughter, tears, long chats and hugs.     Teeter taught me more about the true meaning "love of life". We enjoyed talks about values, the importance of family, and her teaching of the famous hummingbirds that I now photograph as a hobby.   I remember sitting on Teeter's back porch,  enjoying the "humm" of the hummingbird, even when they would land on her finger or hand.  Just this past week, the weather is turning with the chill of fall.   Mike and I have not seen a hummingbird for the last few days, so it must be their calling to move on to a better place, much like you have done. You are missed, with fond memories. Each and every Thursdays I came to visit Gma T as she told me. I was her caregiver for a year last October. She is amazing lady, friend that was strong, I loved her humor and her wonderful stories. We would sit outside on the patio watching the humming birds. She loves her animals that always came to her door. She is and always will be in my heart. I truly value all the things I learned from her. She was a great friend to everyone, she is a great mother, grandmother and I know she was amazing wife. I would always write her a "quote of the day" on her chalk board and she loved it. "Always remember...its the hardest times is life that teaches us the most valuable lessons, and forces us to realize what's really important.... (Tony Santos), last quote I'm given to her. I love you Gma T. To the Waesche family, I am so blessed to be apart of you all and was so happy to be there for Gma T. She is a blessing to me and thank you. I am truly blessed to be apart of her life.

My Aunt Teeter was one in a million. She displayed such a tender love of nature, caring for her returning hummingbirds who actually would land on her finger! The home she and Uncle Harry Lee lovingly created, Twains Meet, was always a haven for loving family, friends and wayward souls. This world is a better place because of her but just won't be the same without her.

There was no one like my grandmother.  She could make even the most cynical smile with her charm and grace, and always her sharp humor.   Absolutely the one to light up an entire room.  A wonderful hostess, an amazing cook, wife, mother, a sweet caring person from another time- too wonderful and gentle to merge with the computer age.  A loving people person with capacity for most every child in her heart.  She always appreciated the smallest fleck of beauty, and I will never forget that she told me she saw God when she watched a seed turn into a flower.  She made us all a little bit better versions of ourselves, or in my case, a lot.  I am much indebted to her presence.  I will never forget my Gramma, and I'm lucky to have had her for near thirty years.
