Wesley Welles Webster passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025, at the age of 71. He was born on September 18, 1953, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, to Donald and Muriel (Bangs) Webster. In August of 1974, he married the love of his life, Marce (Stewart), and together they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage.
Wes grew up in Nebraska, the son of a Methodist minister, and spent his early years moving throughout the state as his father served various communities. He met Marce while attending junior college in Nebraska, but it wasn’t until they both relocated to Denver that their relationship truly began. Wes went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University.
Wes and Marce then moved to Rangely, Colorado, where he worked as an accountant at the local junior college and quickly became an active member of the community. It was during this time that he earned his pilot’s license, sparking a lifelong love of flying. Their journey later took them to Palisade, where Wes worked as an auditor for the State of Colorado. They called Palisade home for 18 years before eventually returning to Denver to be closer to family. After a dedicated career, Wes retired from the State in 2009.
Wes enjoyed the outdoors and spent time skiing, fishing, hunting, and camping. Family trips were especially meaningful to him, a tradition passed down from his father. Music was also a deep passion of his, and he and Marce shared countless cherished moments attending rock and roll concerts together. A devoted sports fan, Wes cheered for the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, and his beloved Nebraska Huskers. He also would never pass up a card game, a cold beer, or a good meal.
Wes will be remembered for his kindness, easygoing nature, and willingness to help others. He deeply valued his family and friendships, and his presence will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Marce; their son, Courtney Webster; daughter, Wendy Webster, and her husband, Andy McAuley; grandchildren, Jackson Webster and Rose McAuley; sister, Donna Henry, and her husband, Lee; stepmother, Anita Webster; and stepsiblings, Rhonda Chomos (Sandy), Debbie Denney, and Jeff Ahl (Jane), along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Wes was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter-in-law, Nicole Webster, and his brother-in-law, Denny Denney.
A celebration of Wes’ life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel in Castle Rock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Wes’ name to SECOR Cares the “Food for Thought” program at https://form-renderer-app.donorperfect.io/give/secorcares/webster-memorial
