

Angela Pogorilich Lamy was born on the island of Pag, Yugoslavia August 20th 1923 and passed away on May 28, 2022 in Baltimore, MD. As a young child, she emigrated to the United States with her parents Luka and Matilda Pogorilich. Angela grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Audubon High School in 1941. She went on to earn a degree in nursing from Temple University, the first in her family to earn a college degree. She became a naturalized American citizen in 1944.
Angela joined the United States Army and served in the United States and in the European theater immediately after World War II, achieving the rank of First Lieutenant. During her service she earned the World War II Victory Medal and the Army Occupation Italy Medal. She met her husband, the future Dr. Peter P. Lamy while they were both serving in the Army, she as a nurse and he as a pharmacy technician. They married in 1952 and remained together until his passing in 1994. Together they raised three children Rudolf Lamy (Antoinette Ahrens), Margaret Lamy Lachowicz (James) and Carl Lamy, who all earned professional degrees. She also has two grandchildren, Paula Lachowicz Campbell (Colin) of Columbia, MD and Anton Lachowicz (Wendy) of New Haven, CT. Angela travelled extensively with her family, enjoyed gardening, supported multiple charities and was a long-time member of Salem Lutheran Church in Catonsville.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Sterling Ashton Schwab Witzke Funeral Home, 1630 Edmondson Ave., Catonsville. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge.
