Wow Grammy, Gimmey, Goochie, Gams....I have so many fond memories of the times we've shared together.  I remember being little and you would let me play with your jewelry in the middle bedroom on those old shelves.  Looking down the old furnace grate for lost objects with a flashlight. Going into your spooky basement to find hidden treasures. Staying with you on weekends watching Bob Barker. (You always thought he was so handsome) going across to the GROVE to play tag or kick a ball.  Walking to the corner drug store - you would always buy me a toy, but would always say, "it had to be American made, not that stuff from Japan!"  We would get an ICECREAM and walk home.  You bought Eddie, Tommy and I our first pair of Nikes (remember those with the blue nike symbol). We couldn't stop looking at our feet all night.  Staying with you on New Years Eve, you would let us bang the pots and  pans as loud as we could! On hot summer nights laying in your bed in the back room with the window fan blowing, and the fire engines blaring down the Baltimore streets.....you would sit in the chair all night and let us have your bed...you taught me to love tomato and mayo sandwiches, hard boiled egg fights with Eddie and Tommy around Easter time (Ed's blue egg would always win) -sitting on your front porch talking with Ms. Gibson and Marie. You and Uncle Gordon arguing over something in the kitchen. Giving me butter with sugar on it to soothe my cough.  Worrying that you gave me old Bologna from moms refrigerator and it would hurt me (it didn't). Watching the Wizard of Oz at your house and crying when the witch died! Thank you for teaching me to crochet.  Each time I make a blanket I will think of you. When I hug my grandchildren I hope my hug will be as special as yours.  Every time I would visit you were always happy to see me.  Remember when I called from Germany, you couldn't believe we could talk from so far away.  When I showed you my new tattoo you said, "oh, Margie!" But you never condemned me for it.  I will always tease you, "Grammy who do you love the best? Me right!"  Your answer was always the same, with a laugh, "of course!" Grammy, I hope and pray my grandchildren will love me as I have loved you.  I hope that when the Lord someday calls me home, my grandchildren will have as many fond memories of me as I have of you.  When I hold onto them and kiss their sweet faces I will think of you.  When we bang our pots and pans I will think of you.  When they ask me to play with them, in their sweet little voices I will think of you...I will try and live up to the standards that you put forth as a Grammy....(it will be hard, because you were one of the best)  I hope that there are lemon cookies and hot tea in heaven for you.  Please say hi to Jeff, Aunt Kathy, Aunt Mary, Nicholas, Granddad, your sisters, brothers and all our loved ones that have passed onto a better place.  I hope you are dancing in granddad so arms again and he was waiting for you.  On one of my visits, I saw the book that you wrote things to remember in, the entry was, "Margie stopped by, i love her so". Gram I don't want to say goodbye to you, so I wont....the people that you love so much stay in your hearts.  I will speak to you often, so please listen.  Grammy, Gimmey, Goochie, Gams, I LOVE YOU SO!

i love you great grandma Rauser, you were such a great woman (: wish i would have known you a bit longer, tell great grandpa i said hello. you will be dearly missed but never forgotten (: love you grandma!

The beauty of your life was most humble, gentle, still and quiet. 
However, your amazing strength was apparent in the number of your years.
Your best and most cherished work

Through them the list grows ever longer, extending into many generations Miss Audrey! 
 You have been visited yet missed for many years, thought of often, prayed for relentlessly and now...remembered warmly and fondly.

Dear Grandmom,

Well.  It did happen on the 13th just like you predicted.  Took a long time after your mental presence slipped away.  You were always worried about dying (can't blame you there) and your body fought it back for years.  

We had so much fun together especially when I was a young boy.  I remember playing soldiers in Irvington all the time at your home.  I would line your steps going upstairs with soldiers everywhere.   I remember hearing the sound of the fruit/vegetable man on a horse drawn carriage selling his product.   The small grocery cart we would both take from your home to the grocery store around the corner.  I remember us playing across the street on the church parking lot so many times.  I also remember visiting you with my son Teddy all the time when you moved close to Catonsville.  Fleeting moments.   Life is so short. 

One of my brother Eddie's favorite things you said at family reunions when he said "look around. ..  you did this" and your reply was "not alone."  That's great!  Soooo many people literally wouldn't be alive today if you and Grand dad hadn't fallen in love and had 5 children.  Countless grandchildren born after too.  And great grandchildren.  And now even great, great grandchildren.   The number is very large.  I'm glad you fell in love to a man (unfortunately I never met) and you never stopped loving.  Well...  I hope in an afterlife and you found him again.  And Jeff and Aunt Mary and Aunt Kathy and your brother and sister and so many orhers. 

Thank you for being a great person.  I love you Grandmom.  Now when you give me oreo cookies, like so many times in the past, can i have five instead of 2 or 3 please??  With Breyers vanilla ice cream too.  Haha.  Rest in peace,  Tom
