

David was born on June 19th,1956 to Patrick and Virginia Caughy in Baltimore, MD. After David graduated from Woodlawn Senior High School in 1975, he attended Catonsville Community College. Thereafter, he began a long career as a Computer Technician, working as a contractor for organizations that included Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory and Goddard Space Flight Center. He worked on several projects that supported the Trident Submarine and the Hubble Space Telescope, two jobs he was very proud of.
David was predeceased by his daughter Michele Lynn Caughy, his granddaughter Isabella Bland, and his parents Pat and Ginny Caughy.
He is survived by his son, who he talked to every day, David Michael Bennett Caughy (wife Crystal). He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Daisy Ragan, Gabriel and Gavin Caughy, his four brothers, including his twin brother Dennis Caughy (wife Margaret) of Athens, GA, Tommy Caughy and Patrick Caughy, of Catonsville, MD, John Caughy (wife Diane) of Eldersburg, MD, and his sister Eileen McLaughlin (husband Steve) of Leesburg, VA, as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
In his leisure time David enjoyed fly fishing and tying his own flies. David deeply enjoyed being outdoors especially camping and hiking, daily listening to programs on Relevant Radio and participating in their international prayer line, and of course doting on his grandkids.
A Funeral Mass will be held to honor the life of David Caughy on Saturday, October 5th at 11:00 am at St. Mark’s Church (Chapel) in Catonsville, Maryland.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to Relevant Radio, a nonprofit Catholic Radio Program and Prayer Circle or The Fairfield Carmelite Nun’s Convent Building in Gettysburg, Maryland.
