I noticed the passing of Mrs. van Opstal after a long life and having established a large family. I do not remember meeting her, but I certainly remember your father, Jaap.
Josseline and I go back to high school days and in subsequent years we were able to speak once, but that is at least twenty five years since. Nevertheless, when I read about this passing, the sorrow was keen and immediate. Josseline occupies a place in my mind and memory which is unchallenged. She is the most beautiful woman of my acquaintance I have ever know. Looking at the photograph of your mother, I can see that such beauty was a trait of the family.
I send my sincere condolences to the family on the loss of your mother and with her the passing of a generation. I send my particular thoughts to Josseline at this sad time.

To Mikki and family: It was an honor to know Ms. Van Opstal during my 25 years at Charlestown. She was a kind, caring, and wonderful lady. She was a true pioneer at Charlestown and had such a positive impact on the residents and staff. Her work with the Stitch & Chat Group, her greeting cards for the holidays, and her concern for others was very much appreciated. She and her family are in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Christopher Rudolf (former Resident Services Coordinator)
