We will always remember Ruth fondly… she had a warm and fast smile and a pleasant, fun personality.   We enjoyed her company whenever we were together…RIP Sweet Ruth… until we meet again…

My big sis Ruth and I lived together at home for 19 years before I went off to the military; and together a total of 82 years on this Earth of ours, until last Friday when she ascended to heaven.  Except for a few years when I teased her way too much about some of early teen romances, we grew up as close as our three-year difference in age allowed, in a happy home.

We both remembered WWII and thrived as young people enjoying new freedoms and opportunities in post-war America.  In those days shootings and drugs were unknown to us and both of us loved life to its fullest.
  
I was unable to be at Ruth and Mort’s wedding 60 years ago because as a new senior at West Point, I was not eligible for such a leave until the following weekend.  Our mother was horrified, but Ruth took it in stride when I didn’t show up at the church.  She never held grudges and was right on time as a bridesmaid for Sharon at our wedding a year later.

As Ruth made her new life in Maryland and lived her entire life in several Baltimore suburbs and Ocean Pines, I went on assignments around the world.  She lived in six different houses, and I lived in 14.  But she and her spouse regularly visited us in 11 of those places and we often visited with her in all six of hers.  We stayed close all those years, only separated at the end, not by distance, but by a cruel disease.  In the first decade and a half of this century, we enjoyed the best of the best of times in Ruth and Glen’s home in Ocean Pines and our present home in Marco Island, Florida. I dearly love my big sis Ruth, and always will.

Sharon adds that Ruth was a dear, sweet Sister-in-law to her, and she will greatly miss her.  Her kindness and goodness was well known to all of her family, and many friends and neighbors.  Ruth was not only a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker, but also a skilled and valuable member of the Catonsville Community College staff for many years.  Ruth will be remembered with love by all who knew her.

We are both saddened at the news of Ruth's passing.  We have so many fond memories of going out to dinner and parties.  This pandemic really shut us all in our homes and out of the lives of others.  Know that you will be missed dearly.

She truly loved her family. Every summer I would spend two weeks to a month with her and my Pop Pop, Glen at their Ocean Pines home. She always made sure to take me out and spend time with me and make sure I was having a good time. I’m especially thankful she was able to meet her great grand daughter, Kylie. Even after her mind started to go she always remembered Kylie and would remind me that I “got a good one”, and we’d laugh. I will miss her everyday. 

Ruth was always a warm and pleasant person. She always had a smile. 
She kept a beautiful home and liked to entertain.
