Sean was born August 9, 1957 in Philadelphia, PA and moved with his family to Catonsville, MD in 1962. Sean graduated from Catonsville High School in 1976 and later continued his education at the Community College of Baltimore County, Catonsville.
After serving in the Coast Guard and stationed in San Francisco, Sean returned to Baltimore and worked for the Baltimore Sun before joining the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in 2002. While at TSA, Sean served as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO) (promoted to Lead TSO) at BWI airport and later as a claims administrator at TSA headquarters. Sean remained at TSA until the time of his death.
Sean was an avid follower of local, state, and national politics, and once testified before a Maryland House of Delegates committee about the official Maryland state song. Sean was an accomplished singer-songwriter, guitarist, and videographer, making a name for himself with a prolific online presence under the name “The Cracks.” Sean loved his family, friends, and community, and will always be remembered for his warmth, sense of humor, and ability to immediately light up any room he entered.
Sean was a proud Baltimorean and die-hard Orioles, Colts, and Ravens fan. He also loved lacrosse and followed his favorite teams closely. Sean’s TSA colleagues remember him as kind, funny, and eager to take on any task that needed to be completed.
Sean is survived by his beloved wife Cheri Miller and siblings James (Rhonda), William (Lois), Mark (Karen), and Mariellen Wheeler (James), in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
