Walburga (Wally) was born and raised in Wurzburg, Germany. She immigrated to America in 1958 and earned her US citizenship in 1962. Wally was married to her first husband, Melvin D. Good Sr. from 1959 – 1979, with whom she had her two sons. Finding love again, Wally married her second husband Dr. Harry Geelhaar in 2007, where she expanded her family with two stepchildren. Family was extremely important to Wally, she enjoyed hosting & attending all birthdays and holidays with their combined families.
Climbing the corporate ladder from a Secretary to a Claims Adjuster, Wally worked in the Private & Commercial Insurance industry the majority of her adult career until she retired from Aetna. Over the years Wally earned many awards & recognitions for her dedicated & exceptional work – she was highly respected among her piers in the field. Insurance however wasn’t her only interest & skill; Wally also held short term positions @ Signature Flights & the local Liquor Store. But it wasn’t all work for this adventurous lady, she had a passion for traveling and took every opportunity to explore as many countries & cities as she could. Taking in all that the world had to offer, if she had the time & the money, she hopped on that plane, train or cruise ship and made every day of every trip count. Wally also loved the theater & opera. She made sure when she could to share that love of the arts with her kids & grandkids taking them to local plays & concerts. She even organized children’s parades & activities such as the 1st annual Sylvan View Bike Parade in the 1970’s that still continues to this day. Wally was a member of many clubs over the years such as the Baltimore Kickers German Club & the Harmonizers of Charlestown Retirement Community.
