We have a picture of Amara with her daughter she loved so much.  She was such a wonderful mom, she loved life, we will for ever remember her beautiful smile and giving of her self.

I have tried for the past year to gather my thoughts and my emotions to write something that can sum up 33 years of friendship that I was so blessed to have with Amara.  Amara always lived each day with a zest for life and I realize that is what I miss the most. Always smiling and always trying to find the positive in all situations she was a rock in our group that we all relied on to make us smile and realize... it's going to be ok. As I have struggled the past year with my grief I find if I just sit down and picture her smile and hear her laughter in my mind it soothes the hurt in my heart.  Thank you so much for a lifetime of unconditional love and countless memories never to be forgotten. There is not a day that will ever go by that I will not miss my forever friend Amara.

You are missed more each day.  May you rest in peace, we love you Amara.

Amara..Girl...The first time I met you I knew that we would be friends forever. The first time we went out together this last New Years Eve. This was to be our year. We crammed so much fun, so many inspirational talks, and so much commiseration into the short amount of time that we had together. I envy everyone who knew you longer than I did. I miss you my sparkly friend! I will think of you always. And Lady, you were that amazing and giving warm Mommy that you aspired to be. You were her every day. My sincerest condolences to your family and friends.

Amara, I flew the skies with you at Western Pacific, I see you now, flying with the angels.  You are loved and missed.

Amara was a blessing to work with.  Everyone at the Bank knew we were in for a treat when we saw Amara marching up to the doors from the parking lot.  She worked with more passion, energy, and compassion than anyone I've ever worked with.  It didn't take much for Amara to smile, and her positive outlook on life is STILL infectious.  Amara, remember what I told you at the Home & Garden Show...And know you will be forever missed and never forgotten.

If it is better to live 50 years like a lion, or 100 like a sheep than Amara was a lion.  She embraced life with her  vivacious  personality and loving arms.  Her beauty ran deep, and her strength was endless.  Thirty years of our  friendship taught me that love has no ends, friends are eternal, laughter eases pain, and goodness still prevails.  
     Sweet Alex, always know that your mom loves you and you were her greatest love.  
     Family and friends, my heart is heavy for the grief that you must feel, words can not express how sorry I am for the loss of Am.

I have always considered you one of my very best friends.  We had a great time flying together at West Pac and stayed in contact most of the time since.  You will forever be missed.  Thank you for being such a great friend.

You, unknowingly touched my heart. As Alex's reading teacher, I worked alongside you to help your daughter succeed. When you got tears of joy in your eyes at her school conference, I felt your mother's love for your daughter. I thank you for letting me share in that love & pride.

No words can ease the pain, so my  prayers will be for strength and peace for all the caring friends and family of the always smiling Amara. I'll cherish the laughter we had together for such a short time, and will always think of you while I eat your favorite Safeway sandwich, and know your eyes are sparkling

Beautiful Amara, please know how much you touched some many lives. We are all crushed that you had to leave us so soon. Our hearts are broken...I know Alex will be taken care of. I remember you when I was a little girl going over to play with Missy.   I remember how you always made me feel good about myself and told me how cute I was. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her loved ones. I was really hoping that I could have made it to the morturay today but had to stay with my 3 sick babies which I am sure she would have appreciated.  I will continue to keep all of her loved ones in my thoughts and prayers from this day forward.  I will always have her laugh as one of my most favorite memories.  My Mom remebers her grace; she has the grace of a ballerina.

My wife and I never had the opportunity to meet Amara.  However we know how much my cousin Bob loved her and Alex.  Our hearts ache at the loss of two beautiful people. Please accept our deepest sympathies.

You touched so many lives, you may have not even known it.  It could have been years or days since we last saw you, it doesn't matter.  You are in so many people's memories and you will be greatly missed.  God gave you that beautiful smile and spirit so you could pass them on to your daughter. Amara, we always thought it was the cutest thing  when your baby sister was born you said "Oh, she's the little onie" and then she became Wanni for years, after your mother carefully picked  the name Melissa so no one in school could make fun of her name.
You must have been about 8 years old when we babysat all three of you for a week and you were such a lovely girl, i drove you to my house and you were so amazed at my refrigerator that had ice and water dispenser, don't know why, but that memory has always been with me.
We will miss you forever, life was too short for all the things you wanted to accomplish. Always a smile on your face.

What a wonderful mother Alex had. I taught Alex in my preschool classroom for a whole year.  As I got to know Alex I learned very quickly what a wonderful, beautiful little girl she was.  Then I got to know Amara and knew where Alex got her wonderful, bright eyed personality. Amara was a loving mother and person.  May all these wonderful memories help Alex learn how beautiful her mother was.  May you rest in Peace Amara, Heaven has just received a loving angel.

Amara was/ is (she’s still alive to me), such a radiant soul.  Her friendships were always so important to her, and she naturally connected with so many people.  In photos Adria Ellerbrock uncovered over the weekend (I’m looking for more), she was always seemed to be in the center of groups, everyone either looking and/ or leaning towards her – like she redefined the center of gravity.  So drawn we were to her warmth and down to earth nature.  I recall a few times we spent together, we could talk for hours without pause on topics we resonated with, she was so intellectually stimulating.  Sending healing thoughts and blessings to her family and friends.

Words seem inadequate to express the deep sadness I feel about the passing of my childhood friend Amara.  I am so glad to have had the privilege of having such a wonderful person in my life. My heart is heavy over this tragedy. Amara was such a beautiful soul, she always had a smile on her face, everytime I think of her, that's what I picture, her smiling. I have so many fond memories of her from High School. I pray for everyone that loved Amara and mourns the loss of her.
