

Ben was born June 25, 1931, in Ogden, Utah, to Benjamin F Jones Sr. and Mary Hadley Jones. He attended East High School, where he played baseball and football under coach Mick Oswald. Later he attended the University of Utah where he also played football, becoming a lifelong and devoted fan of the Utes.
Ben married Thea Shirley Ruff on October 5, 1951, and together they raised five children. He enjoyed a long and successful career in the sign industry, including many years with Young Electric Sign Company (YESCO), where he served as senior vice president and general manager. He was President of the Western Neon Sign Association, then the National Electric Sign Association (NESA), and a board member of the Utah Manufacturing Association. A licensed pilot, Ben loved flying throughout the country. He retired in 1998.
On August 18, 1989, Ben married Jean Ann Cauble. They lived in Sandy, Utah, and later Denver, Colorado. Together they served a mission in the Fijian Islands for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They cherished time with family, temple service, travel, reading, and faithful church service.
Ben was known for his integrity, strong work ethic, love of learning, and devotion to his family. He especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would often be found asleep in a chair with a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Julie, his first wife Shirley and daughter LeeAnn Schwemmer. He is survived by his wife, Jean Jones; his children Terry Watts (Raymond), Ben Jones (Ingrid), Jenni Lynn Davis (Robert), Eric Cauble (Vernet), Richard Jones (Nancy), Melissa Morgan (Trevor), and Stephen Todd Jones (Alyson); 29 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Friday, February 6, from 6–8 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7471 Timberline Rd., Lone Tree, CO. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, at 9 a.m. at the same location, with interment at Olinger Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
