He was born on September 30, 1959, to Martha and James Kennedy in New York. He attended college out in West Virginia and moved out to New Jersey and eventually moved to California where he and his wife Kathryn Kennedy met. They had been married for 24 years and had one son, Christopher Kennedy.
He was approaching retirement but even before that, his favorite ways of spending time were on the golf course with his son on as many weekends as possible, traveled with his son for his golf tournaments, reading books whenever he could at home, and enjoyed music, especially Grateful Dead.
Brian worked as the chairman of General Motors’ parts distribution center in Aurora. He would advocate for laborers’ and workers’ rights to benefits. He always had an eye for detail. Whenever the UAW contracts would be renewed, he would always make sure there was not anything out of place and he was not afraid to speak up whenever something was.
Brian was predeceased by his father James Kennedy who passed away on July 3, 2015.
He is survived by his wife Kathryn and his son Christopher, his mother Martha, and his siblings Jimmy Kennedy, Rory Kennedy, and Susan Pitagno.
Thank you for the thoughts and prayers for Brian and the Kennedy family!
