He was born in Denver, Colorado on November 3, 1933, he moved to Craig, Colorado where he graduated from Moffat County High School. He went on to attend CU for music and art until he was drafted into the army, where he was part of the military band. He met the love of his life Virginia “Jennie” Maestri while he was stationed at Ft. Chaffee army base in Arkansas. They married on November 2, 1960.
He traveled around the U.S. playing his drums and even did a stint in Tokyo, Japan at the Copacabana.
After the birth of their daughter Robyn they settled in the Denver area and eventually bought a house in Littleton, Colorado prior to the birth of their son Dan.
He received a two-week job offer in Minneapolis, Minnesota that turned into 4 years. Their son David was born during this time.
They were anxious to return to Colorado where in addition to continuing with his music he started Chantreaux Limited where he did portrait commissions and backgrounds for photographic studios. In later years, he taught music for the Cherry Creek school system.
Besides his passion for music and art he loved his sports teams the Nuggets, Broncos and Rockies (He also loved Wendy’s chicken nuggets!)
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He never met a stranger.
When you look at the beautiful Colorado sky think of him and know that the color is cerulean blue.
