Dale Arthur Cutshall, 92, passed away peacefully at his home on January 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born July 17, 1933, in Van Meter, Iowa, to Clarence and Venafrum Cutshall. Raised on a farm in Montezuma, Dale graduated from Montezuma High School in 1951, where he was part of the legendary 1948 Montezuma (Iowa) High School football team that completed an undefeated, untied, and unscored-upon season.
In 1952, Dale enlisted in the United States Air Force, faithfully serving his country during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired Honorably with distinction as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1979. Following his military career, Dale returned to civil service, filling his former position. He owned and operated a real estate company and served his community as a librarian at the Montbello Library.
Dale’s faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of his life. He was a devoted member of his church, active in scouting, and found great joy in tending his garden and preserving its harvest. Above all, he cherished his family.
Known for his unique and uplifting sense of humor, Dale was a natural storyteller, jokester, and prankster who could light up any room. His warmth and laughter left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Comfort is found in knowing that, as a faithful believer, he is now free from pain and at peace.
Dale is survived by his sister Marge; his children and their spouses, Kathy (Scott), Dan (Jayne), Sue, and David (Louise); nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives, Elaine and Dorothy; his parents; and two sisters.
Dale will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
