Dawn Valencia Rehbein, age 70, of Morrison, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025, surrounded by her husband and daughter.
Born in Gibson City, Illinois, Dawn later moved with her family to Salida, Colorado, where she graduated from Salida High School in 1973. In 1976, she welcomed her beloved daughter, Jamie. Dawn’s life journey led her to Colorado Springs through her work with Mountain Bell, where she met the love of her life, Randy Rehbein. They married on August 22, 1981, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams.
Soon after marrying, Dawn and Randy moved to Denver and founded Statewide Wholesale. Over the course of 33 years, they built the company together, creating not only a successful business but also a vibrant community that touched the lives of over 600 employees. They retired in 2015, proud of the legacy they had built.
Dawn and Randy shared a deep and enduring bond—more than husband and wife, they were best friends and true partners in life. Their greatest joy came in the form of their four cherished grandchildren: Collin, Carson, Aedan, and Ryanne. "Nana," as she was lovingly known, was the heart of every holiday, the light of every family gathering, and the source of endless love and joy for her grandchildren. Traveling with them, celebrating milestones, and especially sharing the magic of Christmas were among her most treasured moments.
Dawn lived her life with compassion and generosity. She was deeply committed to giving back and worked alongside Amvets to host Christmas parties for underprivileged children—just one example of the many charitable efforts that earned her recognition and awards. In honor of her giving spirit and love for children, donations can be made to your favorite children’s charity in her memory.
She will be remembered for her warmth, her radiant joy, and the way she made every person feel seen and loved.
Dawn is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Randy Rehbein; her daughter, Jamie Lowther (Nate); her grandchildren, Collin, Carson, Aedan, and Ryanne; her sister, Amy Close (Jack); her mother, Dorothy; and many extended family members and dear friends.
She is preceded in passing by her father, Wayne Wheatley; her sister, Jeni; and her beloved little yorkies, Breezy and Polly.
Her presence, love, and laughter will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
