Dennis Ray McGimsey

Dennis McGimsey was born on July 17th, 1941, in Denver, Colorado, where he spent most of his life. He graduated from West High School and then from University of Colorado at Boulder with a Physics degree. He held a variety of jobs starting with hanging sheetrock to put himself through college and support his new family. He also worked as a stock broker, worked for Texas Instruments, and worked as a sales rep for medical equipment. He started his own company, Integrated Medical, in 1976 and successfully led that company until his retirement in 2013. Dennis loved the outdoors, skiing, hiking, backpacking, and biking. He also loved watching sports, from the CU Buffs and Denver Broncos to cheering on his grandchildren’s many games. Dennis’ science background made him a big fan of technology and he always had the latest products and gadgets.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Grace (Hetzel) McGimsey; his brother, Jerry McGimsey; and his son, Mark McGimsey. Dennis is survived by his children, Julie Kite, Jeff (Auni) McGimsey and Heather (Tom) Dewey. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Megan Kite, Lindsey Kite, Emily Kite, Travis McGimsey, Morgan Dewey, Elizabeth Dewey and Cole Dewey; his sister, Pam (Dan) Jebens; and his nieces Kristin (Travis) Atkins and Lauren Jebens. Celebration of Life to be held at 10 am, Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, Colorado, 80121.
