On April 30, Doris Stamey would have celebrated 62 years of marriage with her life partner, Kendrick Stamey. Doris was a native of Colorado, proud of her roots, devoted to and loved by her parents and siblings, an avid researcher of her ancestry, and the cohesive center of the family she created with Kendrick. She dedicated her life to family. Sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Doris gave to everyone in her family and was also a caregiver to young children of working parents in other families. Her gentle presence, warm smile, and sparkle in her pale blue eyes bespoke the keen interest she held in the lives of others, their joys and sorrows.
