

Dorothea Wieneke was born in Tsining China on September 1, 1943. Preceded in death by her parents, missionaries to China, John and Agnes Wieneke. She is survived by a brother Richard Wieneke, (wife, Priscilla) Bakersfield, CA, a sister Marty Ander, Colorado Springs, CO and nieces and nephews and their children who she was like a grandma to. The Wieneke family came out of China in 1954 and went to Arkansas to do home missions. She attended Central Christian High School in Hutchinson, KS and Grace Bible Institute in Omaha, NE. She worked as a nurse’s aid while attending Grace. Dorothea moved to Minneapolis, MN where she went to work with the Billy Graham Association. After her father’s death, she and her mother moved to Denver, CO. Dorothea worked a short time in St. Josephs Hospital as a nurse’s aid before taking a job with the State of Colorado. She worked as a Property Tax Specialist for the Division of Property Taxation for 30 years, retiring at the end of 2012. She enjoyed volunteering for World Ventures and Christ’s Body Ministries. She also loved working with children and spent many years in the children’s department of her church. Dorothea’s adventures brought her around the world, which also included mission trips to several countries. Her family and friends will miss her greatly but remember her for her gracious, gentle, fun loving and giving spirit.
