Well Freddie, it's been 10 years since you left,  and a lot has happened. Mom and Dad are both now with you. I'm glad you're all together, but I miss you so very much. You will always be my baby boy!!  When you passed Freddie,  it was a cold and snowy day.  Well it is the same kind of day today.  Freddie, do you remember?  When your Father would go hunting I would take you to get a grilled cheese sandwich and a root bear.  They gave you your very own little A@W root bear mug.  I still have that mug honey.  You were so cute and you felt very important!  You were only 2 years old,  I have lots of memories of just you and me.  I love you so very much and I miss you!!  One day we'll be back together again.  I wish I could still hug you and hear you say "I love you, Mom".

Good Tuesday Morning and a very Happy Birthday to you my sweet baby.  It's so hard for me to believe that you are 61 today.  I remember so clearly when you were born and I was so proud and happy!  We lived in a small apartment and it didn't take me long to clean it.  The rest of the time I spent holding you.  I would rock you and you would fall asleep on my chest.  I would just continue to hold you and watch you sleep.  I have so many fond memories of when you were little and as far as that goes your whole life!  You and I spent a lot of alone time together.  After you survived your accident you grew up to become quite a man!   Honey, I love you so very much!!! I'm sure you are having a special birthday party with all that are in heaven with you!

Good Sunday Morning to you, my baby boy!  Well, it has been 6 years today since God took you away and I still have mixed feelings about it.  I'm glad you are no longer in pain and that you have your forever home with Jesus but, honey, the pain of losing you is still with us left behind.  You had such a great impact on our lives and it is so hard living without you here.  I relive your life from the beginning so often.  Before Cathy was born you and I would go to the drive up of A $ W.  They gave you a little mug so you could get free root beer.  We still have that little mug. Then, you couldn't wait to have a baby sister!  You said it HAD to be a girl because you wanted to name her Sandy.  Well you got your wish for half....it was a sister but we named her Cathy.  You didn't mind...you loved her so much and took good care of her.  She loved you too!!  Then, when Kelli was born you had a full life with Vance and Dorman but once again that didn't matter.  You too charge of her.  She always said she was "your baby girl".  That's what I mean, through the years you meant so much to all of us!!  I could go on and on with experience's I (we) had with you. You could be such a character but then at the end of your life here on earth you proved you were such a strong, strong, man!  I'm so proud to have you as my son and I miss you greatly.  I know I carry you with me always in my heart but I miss hugging you, telling you "I love you" and hearing you say "I love you too, Mom".

Wow! 60 years ago you came into this world!  I was such a proud mama!  So...Happy Happy Birthday Baby!!!!  I miss you terribly and I love you more than words can say. No one will ever know just how much I love my kids!  You were a challenge growing up but you were always loving and caring.  Even as a little boy those traits were certainly clear!  You had a little friend and neighbor that was handicapped and you always protected him and didn't allow anyone to say mean things about him.  Also, one day some boy (bigger and older than you) called your Papa "Baldy" and you immediately told him off and challenged him to a fight.   You carried those traits to the end of your life. You had great strength when you found out you were dying.  I just hope I can be as strong when my time comes.  I love you Freddie....oh how I love you!  Someday soon we will be together again.  Until then I hold the memories of you in my heart!

5 years......that's a long time!  I miss you so.  This has been a hard month on all of us.  Kelli is recovering from mouth and teeth surgery----Cathy's cat Channy Man has been sick.  She thought he was getting better until yesterday and he started getting bad again.  And then the month that you passed is always hard on all of us.  Dad and I took some flowers out to your grave site yesterday.  I sit on our bench there and look up to the heavens and I know you are in your mansion in the sky! Well, it's 4 years since you went away. So much has happened, and I wish you were here so I could tell you all about it. I know you're there Freddie. I believe now, and I know you are helping us, but sometimes I would just like to see your mischievous little smile and that gleam in your eyes. I think often about the things we did together as kids, the times you took me on your motorcycle, that Christmas when we peeked, that time when I had said goodbye at a family gathering and told you I loved you, but you were distracted and didn’t respond. Tomorrow will be 4 years that you passed and honey I miss you tremendously!  I go over your life often.  You were such a curious little boy and I was a young mother that wanted to protect you and keep you from any harm but you made that a bit difficult at times.  You were very strong willed and determined to do things your way.  In the end these traits proved to be admirable.  When you knew it was time for you to pass from this Earth your faced it with great strength.  It is us you left behind that need to be strong now and once again that is a bit difficult.  People ask me how I'm doing and I say "fine" but if I told the truth that's not quite true.  Just like the song says--Some days are diamonds and some days are stone.  Some times the hard times just wont leave me alone!  I take a minute and remember your strength and that helps me to be strong.  Oh Freddie, I love you so much and you're forever in my heart.

Good Morning and Happy Birthday Freddie!!  57 years ago today God gave you to me and I was so happy to finally have the son that I so wanted!  You were with me for 54 years, 9 months and 13 days.  We had peaks and valleys in our lives and when we had to climb over the hills we would climb them one by one.  But, this time Freddie on March 22, 2014 it came time that I was to give you back to God and at that time the Lord game me a mountain to climb and truthfully I may never get it climbed.  I keep trying but it is such a struggle.  It isn't a hill any longer...it's a mountain this time.  I miss you desperately and I love you with all my heart!

Well my boy, it is coming up on 2 years since you departed and went to live with your Lord and Savior.  I am positive Freddie IF there are Harleys in Heaven that you are boppin around on one and taking your Nanny and Papa and all those you know up there for a ride.  Heaven is a little brighter with you there honey.  I am very thankful that you no longer have pain and struggle to breathe.  I would be lying though, if I said I don't miss you.  I told you before you left that we would all be okay and we are, but my heart actually hurts for you sometimes.  There's such a void in my life with you gone.  I know you are still with me but I long to hold you and kiss you and hear you say "I Love You Mom"!  That time will come again but until it does keep that star shining bright and know that you are loved more than I can express.

Just incase you are wondering why I'm addressing you as Uncle Fred, that is because when I would ask my Mom who you were when I was little, she would say, "That is your Uncle Fred".  I remember you as a big man, soft spoken, and laid back.  At family reunions I would see you drinking a cold one with my Dad and sharing a laugh. Well, birthday time is here once again for you.  You always loved to celebrate your birthday!  It meant so much to you.  I think back over the years and have so many good memories of your special day.  Remember the time we went to the Broker and Kelli spilled HOT coffee all over you?  You just laughed.....then we ALL started laughing!  Then the one when we got you the motorcycle that you wanted so badly and you were so excited however it decided to snow that day (snow in Colo. in June doesn't happen often).  Your Dad took you over to Arapahoe High School and let you ride a little in the parking lot.  That satisfied you.  Then of course your "Over the Hill" birthdays...2 of them.  You were always such a good sport and had the most fun of anyone!!  Then the time we all went to the Denver Aquarium was special also. They were ALL special as you enjoyed them so much!  Then, of course you were a very special person.  I treasure all the memories of you.  I miss you so much but Freddie I have come to the point in this chapter that I am glad you are where you are.  You are with your Lord and Savior and Nanny and Papa.  You no longer hurt as you have your Heavenly Body.  That means so much to me as I know after your accident your body hurt all the time.  You never complained though.  Took it like "The Man" that you were.  "Army Strong" as you would say.  I love you my baby boy.  You will always be in my heart.

I recently drove by the house at Jacksonville Beach where we installed the new roof and it still looks incredible. I guess our fort building days really paid off. Pondering on the said craftsmanship brought back a wave of great memories. Our fabled fishing trip as a reward for our collective work and a night on the town in the classic mustang for some apps, beer and a stack of quarters on the pool table. Man what I would give for a repeat of that Fred. It has been a year since your passing but your voice is still fresh in my ears. We both have the same twisted humor so recalling our conversations always makes me giggle. I hope there is a portal to where you are now so that you can feel the love and thoughts coming from your family that misses you so much. I miss you my brother! Rest in peace, Dorman

It's been 1 year today that we had your Celebration of Life Ceremomy.  You would have loved it honey.  Over 100 people came to honor your life.  All three girls, Cathy, Kelli and Lisa picked the music to be played and it was certainly your music. The right words came to Cathy just as you said they would.  I don't know how she did it but she promised you she would and she did! It was so moving!!  Kelli, Lisa and Dorman had theirs read by the Celebrant.  You were such a special man and loved by many.  It's true....you did things 'your way' and although I didn't always agree with what you did I always stood beside you and we got through things together.  You put on the personna that you were "Bad To The Bone" when actually you were a sweet, thoughtful, kind, loving, sensitive man! I admired you so much because of how you got through life with all the hardships you endured.  You were always willing to help someone and very giving.  Thank you Freddie for the love you gave me, the good times, the bad times, the happy times, the sad times, the scary times and all the proud times.  All this made me a stronger and better person. I'll love you forever and you're with me in my heart.

My Dear Sweet Brother, 
It has been almost one year since you had to leave us. I have been sitting here thinking about exactly what I want to say, but the right words, which you say I always have, don't come. I can't see through the tears and the pain of missing your presence in the world. Every day I think of you and I wonder how you are and what it is like where you are. I couldn't have imagined my life without you in it. You have meant so much to me throughout my life. I could always count on you no matter what else was changing. You were my constant, the one person I knew could see through the haze to a clearer, simpler truth. I counted on that so much because you know how I can complicate my life. You always had a true compass. People didn't think so because you got in so much trouble, but you got into that trouble because you were trying to help someone or hurting because someone had betrayed you. People don't often give proper credit to the simpler people around us, but they have a clearer, truer picture of what is really important. You always knew what was really important and you always lived up to that. I wish I were as honorable and true as you always were. I miss you so much. I know that is me being selfish because you suffered so much in your life and now you are free of that, but you and I went through so much together. We always had each other and now I don't have you, and I wish so much that I still did. I wasn't ready for you to be gone. I'm not good enough to live up to your example, but I will keep trying for you. I love you Freddie and I will for the rest of my time.

Mom is finally starting to stand on her own two feet. Not a day goes by that she tells me she misses you. You took such good care of her! She loves you so much. Freddie, As I sit here this morning it  has been almost a year since you and I said   goodbye, it comes to mind that you left your mother and I a lot of work that we were not able to handle without your help so we have decided to let it be someone elses problem. All your friends on your mail run just couldnt deal with us like they did with you. Although I only knew you for 45 of your 54 years, we were related by blood as you always reminded me. We shared many of lifes experiences , some good some not so good, but we were always there when needed by the other and I could have never have asked for a better son. Freddie will be missed by all the people that he touched. We always look forward to our Holidays and summer vacations together while growing up. We would play games till late in the night and ride bikes, play tag, and run around the neighborhood during the day. Freddie always had the Heart and Strength of A Lion and approached everything he did with strength and courage, and will  always have a place in our Hearts.

  I have such wonderful memories of the times spent with my brother Fred. He had so much adversity to overcome in his lifetime yet remained positive and passionate about life. He was kind-thoughtful-funny-loving and truly a beautiful person. I am lucky to have known him and proud to be his brother. I will miss him dearly and he will live on in my heart as I share our stories with others and chuckle about our fun times!

It is so hard to find words to properly express my profound sadness over Freddies passing.  He was a bright star to his loved ones here and he will now be the bright star in the night sky. REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND.

Fred was the strongest soul.  He just kept going always ready to help. We 
all admired him. He will be missed. He was so loved.

My brother is the bravest soul I have ever known. His life was a difficult path and only a very courageous soul could have made that journey. I will cherish every memory I have of him and I will love and miss him for the rest of my life.
