George Dale Argotsinger, 95, passed away Sunday, August 24 surrounded by family. He was born at home on the farm north of Dow City, Iowa, on May 15, 1930, to Paul and Nettie Argotsinger. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bryce; his wife, Shirley Gibson; and his second wife, Juanita Hamblen. He is survived by his sister, Martha; his children Ron (Monica) Argotsinger, Nancy Moore (Hans Gries), and Rick (Barb) Argotsinger; step-son Gary Van Meter; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Dale graduated from Dow City High School in 1948 and attended Graceland College for two years before serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1951–1955. After his service, he earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Denver in 1957 and a master’s degree from Fort Hays State University in 1969.
A lifelong member of Community of Christ, Dale dedicated his life to faith and service. He worked as a full-time missionary for 12 years and gave generously of his time and talents throughout his life to his church and community including serving as Pastor of the Denver Community of Christ volunteering for over 20 years.
Dale will be remembered for his deep faith, his devotion to family, and his enduring example of service.
A memorial service will be held, Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 10:00 am at Denver Community of Christ, 480 N. Marion St, Denver, CO 80218. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to to Denver Community of Christ or Outreach International.
