Gilbert Arnold Strouse, age 81, of Centennial, CO passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2016. He was born on December 7, 1934, the son of Dorothy (Taylor) and Winfield Strouse. Gilbert attended University Park Elementary and South High School. He played the tenor saxophone with the Junior Police Band from 6th through the 12 grade. He continued his education at Western State, CU Denver, Dental School in Kansas City and Denver University. Gilbert went on to become a High School Science Teacher with Cherry Creek Schools for 27 years, and worked summers at the Denver Water Board for 15 years, plus a couple of summers for Gates Rubber Company. He served his country in the Naval Air Reserves for 8 years.
Survivors include his wife, L. Eileen Strouse; children, Nancy Elizabeth Strouse and Michael David Strouse; three grandchildren, Brook Taylor Strouse, Sara Diane Strouse and Gemma Dorothy Strouse. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Julie Anne Strouse.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary.
