Gregory Gene Roberts

Greg was born in Wichita, Kansas on February 26, 1969 to Gary J. and Lois Roberts. He grew up with his two older sisters Cindy and Susan. Greg graduated from East High School in Wichita in 1987. He excelled at golf and qualified for the 1988 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship. Greg played golf at Washburn University and then Kansas State University graduating from K-State in 1992. Greg was a proud Wildcat and continued following the football team every season since graduating.

After working as a golf professional in Wichita, Greg moved to Colorado in 1994 following the death of his father, whom he was very close. Greg made many great friends in Denver and enjoyed playing golf, playing fantasy football, and talking all sports all the time with them. A major highlight of Greg’s life was attending Superbowl XXXII in San Diego where his beloved Denver Broncos and John Elway defeated the Green Bay Packers.

Greg met Christy Clouthier in 2002 and they married on June 25, 2004. They have two children, Abby who is 11 and Nick who is 8. Greg and Abby enjoyed a verbal banter over Greg’s Broncos and Abby’s love of the New England Patriots. Nick loved getting up early on Saturday mornings to watch College Game Day with Greg and talk about the day’s football games. Greg’s favorite season was football season.

Greg worked as a staff accountant at Integra Realty Resources. He had been with the company for a little over two years. Greg had a great sense of humor and he believed he was quite funny. His many coworkers over the years were his favorite targets for teasing and joking which amused himself to no end.

Greg passed away on November 6, 2016 after a brief illness. He is survived by Christy, Abby, and Nick along with his mother Lois Roberts of Derby, KS, sister Cindy (Jeff) Mohr of Wichita, KS, sister Susan (Daryl) Thomas of Mulvane, KS, nephews Ben Tharp and Cole Thomas, nieces Carly Tharp and Sydney Thomas and great-nephew Kayden Mason.
