

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Virginia Stevens McDonald and his sister, Patricia L. McDonald. He is survived by his second wife of over 12 years, Eileen Seigh Honnen McDonald of Highlands Ranch, CO, his sister, Loretta A. Miller of Holland, MI, his brother Keith W. McDonald (Linda) of Arlington, TX, his children Elizabeth McDonald Hall (Mick) of The Villages, FL, Margaret M. Bathgate (Steven) of Cherry Hills, CO, David E. McDonald (Julie) of Arvada, CO and Steven W. McDonald (Barbara) of Centennial, CO. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Ed was born in Steubenville, OH on May 17, 1929, where he lived until he was approximately 13 years old. He then moved to West Point, MS, where he went to high school (lettering in 3 sports) and met Virginia, whom he married in 1950. He attended Ole Miss and Milligan College before graduating from Transylvania University in Lexington, KY in 1950 and graduated from Lexington Seminary in 1952.
Ed was an active Christian minister at churches in Kentucky and Texas. He left the full time ministry in the early 1960s and pursued an entrepreneurial life in business, including in insurance, acting as President and Chief Executive Officer of several companies, owning and operating restaurants and investing, including in real estate. He was also a consultant to several businesses, including in Omaha, NE, Laramie, WY and the Denver area. Later on, he did some guest preaching and acted as interim minister for several churches in the Denver area and in Laramie, WY. His faith was always an important part of his life.
