

Jon was born in Monte Vista, CO to Llewelyn and Dorothy Muhovich on October 11, 1954. He grew up in Leadville, CO and graduated from Lake County High School. In addition to excelling in academics, he played football, baseball and basketball during those years and developed many lifelong friendships. Jon attended Colorado State University, Mesa Community College and Arizona State University.
After college, Jon and his friend Bill, went on a summer long trek to Alaska. They hiked, camped fished and saw lots of wildlife and when money got tight, worked in a fish cannery. They had many adventures and Jon would talk about this amazing trip for years to come.
As a young man, Jon lived in Glenwood Springs, CO and worked for a magazine and book distributing company. The sister distributing company in Fort Collins, CO was where he would meet his future wife of 40 years, Bobbi Williams. Jon and Bobbi were married May 17, 1986.Jon and Bobbi settled in Denver, CO. They soon had two wonderful sons, Anthony (1987) and Timothy (1989). The boys thrived in school and athletics. The young family enjoyed camping, fishing, going to the boys’ soccer and baseball games and spending time with extended family.
In 1998, the family moved to Grand Junction. During Jon’s time in Grand Junction, Jon and Bobbi developed many friendships primarily through their sons’ local and traveling baseball teams. Jon and Bobbi’s sons were the focus of their lives. Jon enjoyed not only attending the boys games but he coached several seasons as well.
In later years, Their sons went to college, and later found the loves of their lives. Jon and Bobbi were blessed with grandchildren, starting In 2019, with Zayla Grey. Jon was smitten and proclaimed he would buy her a Camaro! She and he were mutually in love and she called him, Papa Donuts. Later, in 2022, our little man, Nicolas was born. His silly sweet independent nature often reflects his Papa, Jon.
In the last few years of his life, Jon and Bobbi were fortunate enough to travel abroad, visiting Italy and Greece with family, and later, Belize, Costa Rica, Canadá and the Bahamas with dear friends.
Jon is survived by his wife Bobbi, his son, Tony (Amanda) his son, Tim (Derrian) two grandchildren Zayla and Nick, 3 sisters, Beth Bartel, (Kim), Ellen Jones, (Jay C), Julie Muhovich, and 2 brothers, Dave, (Nan) and Ned (Kerry), his aunt Su, his very close brother and sister in law, Jesse and Sandi Swayne and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy (2001) and Llewelyn (2014).
A celebration of life service will be held at Our Saviour’s Corner of Hope, 1975 S Garrison St., Lakewood, CO 80227 on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 3pm with a light meal to follow in the fellowship hall.
