She was born to Luther and Mildred Ellis on July 26, 1947 in Ogden, Utah. Joy was a very dedicated student and graduated from South High in Salt Lake City in 1965. She obtained her B.A. Degree from Metropolitan State University in Denver, CO on August 10, 1997 and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Joy was a very dedicated teacher and would always reach out to inspire every student she taught and would be greeted warmly for years after they left her class and give her a great big hug.
She married James O. Chipman on December 29, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple. She is survived by her husband, Jim Chipman; daughter Angie Shoop; son, James Brett Chipman; sister Diane Weight and 6 grandchildren and their families.
Joy’s Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Park Meadows Ward Building, 7471 Timber Line Building, Lone Tree, CO. There will be a viewing from 1:00-4:00 pm, Friday, November 3, 2017 at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO
