

It is with deep sorrow and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of KyuSung Yeon, born on September 1, 1953, in Goesan-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea.
Mr. Yeon was a devoted professional, accomplished engineer, proud military serviceman, and a man of great perseverance and innovation. He graduated from Chungju Industrial college in 1974 with a degree in chemical engineering.
In January 1975, he began his military service by entering the Korean Army General Administration School, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant at the fastest promotion rate. He served proudly as a Military Police Officer with the Ulsan Police Investigation Department during his 34 months of duty in the 1970s.
Following his military service, Mr. Yeon embarked on a long and distinguished engineering career. He started in 1978 as an engineer at Chungju Mine and soon transitioned to a chemical plant in Seoul. He was quickly hired by Sam Young Co., Ltd., where he contributed for over a decade as a key leader in the technology development team. His pioneering work included the development of new products such as plastic wrap (cling film).
In 1991, he transferred to the film process division of a chemical plant in Gimhae, where he led a team of 30 and successfully established a packaging plant. He later became a chemical plant manager, overseeing factory operations and expanding his impact through international business trips to Germany and France.
His innovations in the PVC industry contributed to the development of essential products such as diapers, tape, wrap, and rubber tube-solution that touched the lives of many.
On October 15, 1994, Mr. Yeon and his family immigrated to the United States, embracing a new chapter of life with courage, optimism, and perseverance.
KyuSung Yeon’s life was a testament to quiet determination and unwavering belief. As he often lived by:
“What everyone else said was impossible, I BELIEVED it was POSSIBLE-and made it happen.”
He is survived by his wife, HoShik Jun, and their children: WolSun, Bora, and JinChul Yeon. He was a loving grandfather to Lux Lue Vang and Levin Kyu Vang.
He is also survived by his siblings: KyuNam, KyuSan, KyuJun, and KyuKang, as well as his aunt WonJa Woo and cousin KyoungHo.
