

Lloyd was born on January 4, 1929 in Englewood, Colorado, to the late Otto and Edna Rauchfuss. Lloyd is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Rauchfuss, and his sisters, Geraldine Sjogren and Elaine Baxter.
Lloyd graduated from Englewood High School and accepted a position with Mountain Bell Communications, which later evolved to AT&T Communications, where he worked for more than 35 years.
Lloyd was a Korean War veteran, reaching the rank of Sergeant who served honorably for one tour of duty. He was initially assigned as a heavy weapons expert and walked the entire length of the Korean peninsula several times. Lloyd later accepted an opportunity to be a full-time cook in charge of his company’s mess hall and was then stationed in Japan. Lloyd was a very good cook. One of his specialties was elk liver and onions after a successful hunt.
Lloyd was a family man and a loving father who appreciated the great outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and antique gun collecting.
Lloyd married Helen Singer on November 8, 1952, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Littleton, Colorado. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary and enjoyed their life together.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Helen Singer Rauchfuss, his children, Barbara Rauchfuss Riney (Richard), Janet Rauchfuss, David Rauchfuss (Paula), and Mary Rauchfuss Ruffin (David); his grandchildren, Caroline Riney Greenberg (Scott), Ricky Riney, Ryan Walker, Kyle Walker, Drake Walker (Mikkayla), Luke Rauchfuss, Daniel Rauchfuss, and great granddaughters Claire and Chloe Greenberg.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 6673 West Chatfield Avenue, Littleton, with Committal Service following at 3:30 p.m. at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Blvd. Centennial, CO.
