
Margaret (Marge) Green Carlson passed away on October 14, 2021 in Lakewood, Colorado of natural causes. She was born on June 14, 1941 to the late Frederick Hiram Green and late Evelyn Brumbaugh Green, and is survived by her husband Eric Cortland Carlson in Parker, Colorado.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Carlson Unrein, her husband Terry in Castle Rock, Colorado; her son Keith Eric Carlson, his wife Jennifer, their children Jack, Ben, and Caroline in Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and her brother Richard Green and his wife Elssa in Guilford, Connecticut.
In 1959, Marge graduated high school from Fairfax High School in Fairfax, Virginia. She graduated from Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania in 1963 where she studied Sociology. Marge and Eric met while both attending Grove City. They were married on November 9, 1963.
Marge worked for the Department of Defense at the Pentagon while Eric was deployed in Thailand during the Vietnam War. Before settling in Colorado, they lived in Del Rio, Texas, where they made many life-long friends. They established roots in Littleton, Colorado where they started their family and fostered many more lasting friendships. After raising two children, Marge went back to school to learn medical transcription. She was a transcriptionist for various medical offices during her career until she retired in 2005.
Marge was active in her church, where she sang in the choir, worked as a greeter, helped lead several weekend retreats, and served as an elder at Grace Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing guitar, loved to sing, and enjoyed listening to many styles of music. Marge made many wonderful gifts, household items, and clothes through her passion for sewing, knitting, and needlepoint. Marge and Eric owned a condominium in Grand Lake, Colorado, where they enjoyed spending time in their retirement. Marge was a loving wife and a devoted mother, and has many friendships lasting decades, which she deeply cherished.
Arrangements for a memorial service for Marge are to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America at alzfdn.org.
