Martha was born March 20, 1925, in Lincoln, Nebraska. She lived in Lincoln until the age of 12 when her family moved to Denver, Colorado to start a small café business.
She was actively involved in her church and enjoyed serving others. This included sharing her gifts and talents with coordinating weddings, cooking for potlucks, bookkeeping, and led high school youth groups. She also loved and nurtured many foster children.
In addition to being a caring wife, mother and grandmother, Martha was intellectually ahead of the game and eager to learn and discuss modern and trendy topics. She especially enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, playing cards, sports, socializing, entertaining, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Judith (John) Blomquist; her daughter in law, Dianne McMillan; her grandchildren, Kathy, Karen, Sean, Susan, and Erin; and her 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Guy Jefferson McMillan (May 16, 1982); her beloved son, Richard Reid McMillan (August 3, 2013); her brother, John Dillon Ellermeier (October 3, 2006); and her sister, Mary Jo Jordan (June 18, 2013).
A private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 5th, 2:00 PM, at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery in Centennial, Colorado. A Celebration of Marty’s life will be held later for extended family and friends.
